GREEN GREETING CARDS 💚💌 • My boyfriend introduced me to @dontsendmeacard earlier this year. They send e-cards on your behalf for a very tiny fee that goes to a charity. I’ve used the service a few times in 2020 and am really impressed! 📮✉️🌎 • Producing, posting and decomposing of cards negatively impacts the environment and the cost of them soon adds up! 💰 Don’t get me wrong, cards are lovely and can be meaningful but what do most of us do after we’ve received them? We might keep them for memories, repurpose them into gift tags, recycle them (if they can be, most with glitter can’t! ♻️) or we might not. 33% of paper in the U.K. ISN’T recycled and it takes between 5-15 years for paper in landfills to break down, producing greenhouse gases in the process. 🦠❌ • This isn’t to say I don’t do regular birthday cards anymore. I still send them occasionally. However since discovering @dontsendmeacard I’ve been sending e-cards and I’m really enjoying it. The money I would usually spend on a card or stamps is donated to charities. Lots of charities are signed up to the scheme like @dogstrust, @sheltercharity, @nspcc_official, and local charities too. Choose a card design, select an amount to donate and send the card to up to 5 email addresses. 📨🤳🏼 • I like what the company stand for and how they encourage giving to charity, while still being able to send a card to loved ones 🥰 • ⏩ Swipe to see some other greeting card stats from @dontsendmeacard. • [image description: first image of animated character receiving and sending e-cards from Don’t Send Me A Card. "We signed up for DontSendMeACard recently, and were floored that the very next day we received our first donation of a massive £457! This was without any promotion from our charity. We are now receiving a number of donations after sharing the initiative with supporters."
