About Almost Home Canine Rescue
Almost Home Canine Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit based out of Sioux Falls, SD that is dedicated to assisting, rescuing, fostering and providing a lifetime of love and care for unwanted, homeless and abused or neglected pets. We are a 100% volunteer and foster ran rescue, AHCR does not have a physical "shelter" or facility. This means, all of our animals are in safe and loving foster homes that helps each dog or cat with the transition to their forever homes.
AHCR relies solely on fundraising, donations, and grants to pay for our vetting bills, supply costs, emergency medical cases, etc. None of our volunteers, fosters, or board members are paid - they simply give their love and time out of the kindness of their hearts. The majority of our animals come as strays or unwanted/accidental litters from one of our very own South Dakota Reservations. We make several transport trips each month to save the lives of these animals and bring them to safety to our foster homes. Some animals come from owner surrenders or breeder releases as well, but we mainly focus on the many animals needing our help right here in South Dakota.
