About The Bobath Centre
Did you know that there are over 110,000 people living with Cerebral Palsy in the UK?
We are a national charity based in Watford. We provide specialist treatment and training and support children, families and adults living with cerebral palsy and similar neurological conditions.
The Bobath Centre supports families who are concerned about their baby’s development, or whose baby has been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy (CP). This includes those who have been told by doctors that their child is at risk of developing CP or a similar neurological condition.
It is vital that treatment is started early to take advantage of the period of enhanced neuroplasticity in the early stages of development. Treatment is designed to meet the individual baby’s needs, identifying what developmental activities are delayed or missing, and working to support the development of mobility, communication and the ability to interact with their environment.
We also provide support to adults who have CP and other neurological conditions. Unfortunately, from the age of 18 years old adults with CP are cut off from support that they have had as a child. We provide online support to adults as well as therapy and life skills training.
